Some 60 years after its establishment – on May 24th, 1993 to be exact – the family-owned company based in Diessen achieved a new milestone with the acquisition of the transport company In ‘t Veld. The Etten-Leur-based transport company, like Timmermans, had a strong focus on the paper sector at that time.
With this acquisition, the company then had a total of 80 employees, 53 trucks, and 48,000 m² of storage capacity. Etten-Leur proved to be a strategic location as a distribution centre, allowing Timmermans to instantly expand its activities in storage, handling, inventory management, and information provision. Public warehousing thus became – and continues to be to this day – one of the core activities of Axell.
