Thursday, June 1st, Carolien (a member of the Timmermans family and therefore co-owner of Axell Group) and Dirk participated in the Alpe d’HuZes with their children Fenne, Job, Luuke and Sam.
They did this together with an other family. Some of them climbed the mountain on foot, others by bicycle. A total of 16 kilometers up the mountain, 21 turns and 1100 altimeters. A few even went up several times!
All this to raise money for the Queen Wilhelmina Fund for the Dutch Cancer Society for cancer research. In the months and weeks leading up to Alpe d’HuZes, the families raised money with various actions.
Axell thinks it is important to also contribute socially and therefore sponsored the logos on the jerseys. In the end, they raised a nice amount of €9.273. This year a total of over €17 million was raised. What a top achievement!
