On February 16, 2022, the acquisition of Axell Employment by OTTO Work Force was officially completed. The Tilburg-based employment agency, founded in the 1990s, was part of Axell Group in Diessen for many years. With this strategic step, Axell Group is once again fully focused on its core activities in logistics and financial services.
Back to the Core: Focus on Logistics and Financial Services
The sale of Axell Employment marks a renewed focus on Axell Group’s logistics and financial divisions. Axell Logistics and Axell Financial Services, operating in both the Netherlands and Poland, remain an essential part of the organization. In the Netherlands, Axell Group provides transport and storage solutions under the Axell Logistics banner, with storage and distribution centers in Diessen and Etten-Leur.

Why This Decision?
Henriëtte Timmermans, owner of Axell Group, explains the decision: “I have reached an age where I want to work less and spend more time with my family. My children do not wish to take over my role in the organization. That is why we ultimately decided to sell Axell Employment.”
For Axell Group, it was important that the new owner shared the same core values. “When considering the acquisition, we looked for a reputable company that could continue and expand the organization. The core values of OTTO Work Force align perfectly with those of Axell Employment. We have full confidence that our employees are in good hands.”
Sustainable Future and International Growth
With the sale of the employment division, Axell Group can fully focus on further sustainable growth and innovation. The organization continues to invest in environmentally friendly solutions, such as:
- Fossil-free fuel (HVO100) for the fleet (since 2021).
- New warehouse construction in Diessen and Etten-Leur, featuring energy-neutral applications.
Axell Group is also expanding in Poland. A new 30,000 m² distribution center is being built in Łyszkowice, near Warsaw, for a major international client, Dealz. Additionally, the Polish transport division is investing in a new fleet of trucks to support international and domestic transport activities.
Strong Brabant Family Business and Local Commitment
As a Brabant-based family business, Axell Group remains committed to the region. For over 90 years, the organization has maintained close ties with local initiatives and activities in Diessen and Etten-Leur.
“We will continue this in the future. We are and will remain engaged with our immediate surroundings,” says Henriëtte Timmermans.
