Sustainability

Introduction HVO100

Alternative sustainable, fossil-free fuel will contribute to the reduction of its CO2 footprint for Axell Logistics Netherlands.

Diessen – Netherlands, May 2021 – Axell Logistics had an ambitious goal when it comes to sustainability. Switching to HVO100 is a measure implemented by Axell from 1 May to reduce Co2 emissions compared to regular Diesel, HVO100 is a logical choice for the transport and logistics company.

Sustainable fossil-free fuel as an alternative to Diesel

HVO100 is a practically CO2-neutral alternative to Diesel and is extracted mainly from plant residues, waste and residual raw materials and other organic materials. “We see this choice as another step in realizing the sustainability we strive for as a company” says Henriëtte Timmermans, DGA Axell Group.

“In 2020, we have already taken a major step in achieving our goals to perform more sustainably. Since the beginning of last year, we have been providing sustainably. Since the beginning of last year, we have been providing sustainable energy for our own company, as well as hundreds of households in the region, with approximately 5000 solar panels” continues Lennard van de Winkel, Managing Director Axell Logistics.

With this switch, Axell Logistics allows some of its trucks and delivery vans to run on HVO100 in order to reduce Co2 emissions by 150 to 200 tons per year. The aim is to further expand these savings in the future.
