Henriëtte Timmermans – The strong pillar of Axell Group

In 2004, Henriëtte took charge of the family business Axell Group after the death of her husband, Jan Timmermans. Since then, she has held course with a determined direction. The company’s core values – respect, transparency, decisive, solution-oriented and entrepreneurial – form the foundation of her leadership.

In her early years, Henriëtte mainly monitored the day-to-day operations. But over time, she began to make her own mark. She believes in leveraging each other’s expertise to grow responsibly. What additionally characterizes Henriëtte is her commitment to honesty and openness. She puts these values first, respects the individual dignity of everyone in the company and managed to successfully lead the company through challenging periods.

In 2016, she – together with the management at that time – brought all business units together under the name Axell Group. This included not only a rebranding, but also a powerful message: “Adding value together.” This reflected not only her commitment to synergy, but in addition its dedication to preserving the values of the family business.

Although the family name ‘Timmermans’ disappeared from trucks and facades – which was not easy for everyone – the link with the past remained alive. The name Axell was once created by her husband Jan for the temporary staffing branch and now remains a source of pride for the whole family. Thus Henriëtte proves that although names may change, strong values and dedicated leadership keep the essence of a family business unchanged.
